Nepal flash flood kills at least 9, leaves hundreds of tourists missing

A massive flash flood swept away villages in Nepal on Wednesday, killing at least nine people and damaging roads, bridges and power projects in areas near Tibet, authorities said. Officials said 384 tourists, including 291 from countries including India, the United States, the United Kingdom and Malaysia, were reported missing as a result of the flash flood. Across the ‌border, officials in Tibet said they feared “major casualties” with some missing in the county of Gyirong after a mudslide hit.
