Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif calls Mecca attacks a ‘red line’ at UNGA

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, saying any threat to the safety and sanctity of Mecca and Medina would be a “red line that must never be crossed”. Addressing the 81st UN General Assembly in New York, Sharif also defended the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, saying the pact is not directed against any country but is intended to strengthen regional defence, stability and peace.
