Ashutosh Ranka, CJP volunteers detained in Assam during peaceful meeting

CJP co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka and several party volunteers were detained by Assam Police in Guwahati on September 27. The CJP said the group was in Assam for a peaceful meeting with supporters and alleged that those detained were not informed about the grounds for their detention. NCP (SP) spokesperson Anish Gawande also demanded their immediate release and warned of legal action.
